Battle Cry – Flash Fiction
Lets play a game.
Wherever you’re sat, whatever you’re doing. Scan the vicinity for the nearest document/book/magazine etc you haven’t written. Pick it up.
If it’s a book turn to page 77,
If it’s a magazine or news paper turn to a page containing the number 3 (3, 13, 23 etc)
If it’s anything else turn to page 4.
Take the tenth, thirty-third and the last word, then pick the longest word you can find on the rest of the page.
Write a story or poem in less than 100 words containing all the words. AND I want to know what the words are when you post your story.
Battle Cry
“If they want war, we’ll give them war!” the leader says as he stands on a stage before the crowd.
We all jump to our feet and cheer, “Give ’em hell!”
The leader, now red-faced, continues, “We’ll squash them like bugs!”
We all chant, “Termites, termites!”
By now we are a frenzied mess. Shouts, screams, and chants echo through the auditorium. The leader has given another compelling speech. We pile out of the meeting hall pumped and ready to fight. We each return to our rooms, turn on our computers, and log in to the game – Exterminator Warriors!

Ha! great story, not at all what I would have expected from those words either, Lori. Did you get all your internet fixed now? Hope the storm has past.
Thank you, Sacha! It was a fun write 😀
Yes, the ‘net seems okay for now. We are still having glitches with the cable so they are coming by to check on that tomorrow. No storms in the forecast, but well, you never know with weather around here.
Lol.
Interesting concept for a writing prompt.
Indeed.. it was quite a clever way to spark a story!
