The List Maker – #Drabble
for 100 Word Challenge – Prompt: List
The List Maker
Mary had been a prolific list maker her entire life. More out of compulsion than need. She was known for her famous lists. Instead of sending cards for special occasions, she sent friends and relatives lists penned in calligraphy on high quality paper. Her lists gave people joy, hope and encouragement.
Mary sat at her desk penning such a list for her family and friends. This one though would be a single list.
never forget…
our laughter
spring walks
leisurely talks
cherished memories
my love
It was the shortest list, but the most important one she’d penned. And her last.

This was heart-warming, but melancholy. It would be the most important list she’d write, and fitting it’d be her last one indeed.
Thank you, Azure 🙂
A lovely piece, with a note of sorrow at the end. I really liked this!
Thank you, Kat 🙂
Beautiful, truly! Love the way your mind works. I’m a list maker too. And I have dozens filling my notebooks. Not neatly written though, lots of doodles on the pages and mark throughs. 🙂
Thank you! Sounds like my notebooks, Yolanda.. and I keep them too.. have so many stacked on my bookshelf. Nothing major any in any of them.. like you, just lots of doodles and mark throughs.. lol
This is so tender. A wonderful list to make for those you love, and a lovely remembrance of a friend.
Thank you, Tara 🙂
