Her Daily Grind – #Drabble

February 24, 2016

for 100 Word Challenge – Prompt: Habit

Her Daily Grind

Chloe couldn’t help herself. She’d done this so many times that it had become a habit. Some would say an obsession. Still, she needed to do this or her world would crumble.

She braced herself at her desk. Opened her laptop. Waited. Clicked on the program. Waited. Finally, a page appeared. She steadied her hands on the keyboard and began typing.

Her second novel in a year. Her fantasy world come to life.

“If only you spent as much time with me as you do that novel,” her husband screamed.

Chloe ignored him. She preferred her fantasy.

  1. I was definitely able to relate with this story. Being transported into a fantasy world is much better than real life. Good piece 🙂

  2. You do extremely well on the flash fiction or short stories I guess they are called. You should compile all your stories fiction or not and publish a book…..

PS going to rest will read more later. And am I following each blog you do? I hope so!!!

  3. Sounds like they have a problem – perhaps it’s gone beyond sorting it out.

  4. Ah….fantasy most always goes the way you wish. Men, on the other hand, usually let you down. Sad!

  5. Chloe sounds awfully familiar! It’s sometimes so much easier living in the fantasy of writing than in real life!

    • *laughs* yeah, she sounds a lot like me these days too… definitely easier to live in a fantasy 🙂 Thank you for stopping by, Melissa 🙂

  6. Oh, my. Sometimes fantasy wins. Great 100!

  7. Chloe sounds like she’s lost herself in her story.

What's on your mind? Let me know!
