The Last Hope #drabble

January 3, 2017

The Last Hope

“Was it you who did this to my planet?” the small, furry alien asked.

I nodded.

“Turn it back.”

“I can’t.”

“Then you will suffer the consequences.”

The alien took out a gun and zapped me. I shrunk to his size. Then he zapped my lander. It shrunk to the size of a toy. He picked it up and put it into the pocket of his jumper.

“Now you’re stuck here forever.”

My report was never sent. No one would ever know that the seeding on Cernos took root. No one ever came to colonize the last hope for humankind.

  2. Hahaha! The alien didn’t like how his planet was changed, zapped him into the size of a tiny alien and cursed him to stay on the planet forever. It is true, the ending is very grim but it still made me laugh. Great story!

O dear, every thing that someone does has a consequent. But you made me smile

  4. A grim sci-fi take, but also quite funny that this how humankind ends. Nicely done.

What's on your mind? Let me know!
