Update – Still Sick

May 24, 2016

Hey everyone. Just wanted to update you so you didn’t think I’d fallen off the face of.. okay but it has felt like it!

Sunday, I was a horrible mess. So sick I could barely sit up most of the day. Couldn’t hold down any food. I tried to do some writing, but only got one story written. So I scheduled it. The book promo for Lori had already been schedule. Thankfully. So I just laid about in bed, trying to drink water and an electrolyte drink and watched stuff on Netflix and Hulu.

I spent several hours in the ER yesterday getting fluids. I was horribly dehydrated and passed out for spell walking in the garden yesterday morning. Funny, all I wanted was some sunshine and warmth. The ER doc wanted to give me some antibiotics, but I just laughed at him. It’s a f’king virus! Then he asked if I had taken the flu shot and I laughed at him again. He wasn’t too happy with me. Anyway.. I got the fluids and came home. Slept most of the evening, in between Dad coming in and poking me to sit up and drink some water.

Today has been much of the same. Just sleeping a lot. Waking up every hour to take fluids. I was able to eat a little bit of sherbet and some jello and sipped some chicken broth off and on. It may still be a day or so before I am back.

Miss you all!

  1. Take care.. get well soon.. keep smiling 😂

  2. Oh no! I hope you recover quickly! 💕

  3. Dreadful. I hope this wretched illness passes soon! Love and light to you Lori 🙂

    • Thanks, Joey.. I am starting to feel better. Just need to still take it slow. Blessings to you as well, dear 🙂

I’m a big believer in the 3 R’s school of medicine, Rest, Restore, Recover, hope your spirits are restored soon Lori!

    • Thanks Robynne… I am feeling a bit better today 🙂 Still going to take it a bit slow though 🙂

  5. I do hope this clears up for you soon, Lori.
I shall press on with Zanzibar today (okay, it’ll put us out of sequence, but so what; it’s only a bit of fun anyway) and leave you to put it up when you feel up to it.
Take it steady and don’t rush back to work. I tore a calf muscle running around with the dogs last Friday, so I’m desk-bound anyway!
    Do get better soon.

    • Thanks Keith.. yeah, I don’t care if we get out of sequence since we are doing separate parts to the same story… I am sure we well collide soon though *laughs*
Sorry to hear about your calf muscle… is it mending okay?

      • It will be interesting to see if the coming together happens organically, or whether one of us will engineer it. Either way, it may need to be negotiated.
The affected calf muscle is still out of place and swollen, but it is getting better every day (except when I do something stupid). I did the other calf muscle four years ago, so I know roughly what to expect – four to six weeks to complete healing but it should be reasonable in a fortnight. I hope so; after a chiropodist visit for me yesterday and a specialist consultancy for Clare today, I have another visit next Wednesday, and Clare has a hospital day-surgery appointment next Thursday.

  6. Sounds nasty :-(. Get well soon 🙂

  7. Lots of that going around. Hope you feel better soon.

  8. Get well soon Lori!

    • Thanks Dan.. Still not 100%, but I am feeling a bit better today 🙂 How are you doing?

      • Glad you are feeling a little bit better hope u get a 100 percent recovery soon. I had a bad night and a bad today I got depressed and real anxious ate foods high in sugar. I had to go on a long walk and take my meds to stop the bleeding,. Sugar was real high.

  9. Here’s hoping you’re over the worst of it, and feel better soon. ❤

  10. Get well soon!

  11. Get well soon.
