366 Days of Writing Prompts – Day 137

May 16, 2016

Too big to fail

Tell us about something you would attempt if you were
guaranteed not to fail (and tell us why you haven’t tried it

There is this closed store in my small town. Back in the day, it was a 7-11. If I knew I could not fail, I would do the nerdy thing and open up a comic/gamer shop there. Along with everything dealing with comics,  it would also have stations set up to play online video games, live gaming sections (for D&D and other live-action games), and host a weekly gamers’ night where we could all get together and have mass gaming contests (live and video). This is a world I could easily immerse myself in.

So why haven’t I tried it? It all comes down to money. I don’t have it and since I live in such a small town, I doubt I could get backers to help fund it. Still, every time I pass that building, I see Ravyne Hawke’s Comics and Gaming on those planks of wood covering the windows.

How about you, dear readers? If you knew you couldn’t fail, what would you try? Share your thoughts with me in comments.

  1. I loved this! What a great prompt!

  2. Ah, but look what happened to Stuart – he ended up living with Howard’s mum, then with Howard and Bernadette!

What's on your mind? Let me know!
