Prompt: I challenge you to write a poem about food
Robbed
she pushes the plate away
not another morsel
will pass her cracked lips
the days of feasts have fled
as nausea swells within
only cancer eats there now
she rolls over on her side
buries her head in the pillow
and dreams of food

Thank you for the reblog, Dee 🙂
You are welcome
This hurts to read -but it is ever so true for many people. I wish I could somehow ease their suffering. Thanks for putting it into words -so others will feel their final moments.

Thank you, Dee.. and you are most welcome 🙂
A perfect title and a poem that expresses this loss so well. Is this from personal experience or would you rather not say? Anyway–well done. Thank you!
Thank you, Linda… somewhat personal. I had Uterine cancer, but while taking chemo, I saw so many women in this shape. Some were on their 3rd or 4th round of chemo because the cancer had come back.. it was just so sad to see them all wasting away
