366 Days of Writing Prompts – Day 67
Seven days
You wake up tomorrow morning to find all your plans have
been cancelled for the next seven days and $10,000 on your
dresser. Tell us about your week.
Well, it is early March and still quite cold and I don’t really have that many plans to be cancelled except for writing my mystery story and I cannot take a week off writing it. So I guess I will relocate for a week to write it instead.
Maybe take a plane ride out to San Diego where it is warmer and put myself up in a decent hotel room close to the ocean. Spend my mornings writing the mystery and then my evenings roaming the beach. Not sure if $10,000 would be enough money to make all of that possible, but just for the hell of it, I will time travel back to the late 1940s which is the time period of my mystery story and then $10,000 will go farther. Hey, it’s my fantasy here, so I can create time travel for it!
Maybe even take in some local charm, like a night club similar to the one in the novel, take in a show or two. Eat at a great Italian restaurant one night. Drink some bourbon and smoke a lot of cigarettes and use an old typewriter to work on the novel. Maybe I will become a local celebrity, if people find out I am a writer.
Gotta love these fantasy moments first thing in the morning… ha!
How about you, dear readers? If you find yourselves without anything to do for 7 days and $10,000 to spend, what would you do? Share with me in comments.
I like this prompt…caught my eye when in my email. I like your time travel choice…lol!
I often daydream about a family vacation with my boys, grandkids, mom, and sister. I thought of Disney World and places such as that. But, I want us all together enjoying eachother’s company. So, you hear about the tropical places you can rent an entire house out. I would do that. Private pool I can swim with my grandkids in or just watch them play together. Listening to my son’s talk about days they had fun together as children. Their wives all getting along in swim suits painting their nails or reading books. Just togetherness…..:-)
Oh that does sound lovely! It would definitely be an enjoyable way to spend a carefree week!
Probably spend it doing the final edits to my book so I can get it out there already!
I am going in a few months to France. Just a stroke of fortune.
I hope you have an amazing time, Lori.. take lots of pictures! Would love to see them 🙂
Yes, it will be a special journey…my first since my husband died. We shared many happy times in France.
My condolences, Lori.. I am sure you will think of him often during the trip. Best wishes, dear
Thank you. Very kind of you.
