366 Days of Writing Prompts: Day 62
Beach, mountain, forest, or somewhere else entirely?
I am torn between two great loves – the Ocean/beach and the mountains. If I had to make a choice between the two, the Ocean/beach would win out, I am afraid. ‘Though the mountains have always been my home, living in an area surrounded by them, they do not call to me as the Ocean does. They are silent, rigid, and ever present. The Ocean is more elusive since I am so far inland on the east coast of Virginia. Here is a tribute that I wrote several years back for the Ocean:
She will beckon for me again, for I always return to her. And I will hear her calling me from far away ~ the rolling lull of her voice in hushed whispers, soft and sensual ~ to come to her and be claimed by her. The salty sweetness of her scent will engulf me, enfold me, and make me whole again. As I sit here, rocking to and fro on my porch swing, I can sense her, even now so far away from the presence of her essence.
And I will go to her, as a lover whose very existence depends upon the beloved. I will dance at midnight in her sea-foam lace, as she teases me with her silky softness curling around my toes. And when we are both exhausted from our foreplay, I will curl upon the sandy beach with her, her satiny wetness surrounding me, wrapping herself all about my body, sliding seductively between my legs, lapping at my inner thighs, and there, the place of my deepest desires until her lullaby softly lulls me to sleep.
When morning comes, she will be there, a shy’s distance from me. And I will go to her, allowing her to gently toss me within her lace and silk until she has claimed me completely.
