“Lessons of Childhood” – Senryu Series

January 21, 2016

for JusJoJan – Prompt: Mittens

“Lessons of Childhood”
senryu series

bundled in mittens
we wander outside to play
snowfall inspires us

we construct Frosty
three layers tall with coal eyes
will he come alive?

frozen to the bone
we scurry back in for warmth
leaving Frosty behind

in two days he melts
as the sun reduces him
lump of snow remains

Frosty did not live
fairy tales do not survive
lessons of childhood
