Blogger Recognition Award

January 19, 2016

blogger-recognition-award

I want to thank Plotlessone for this nomination. Please stop by his blog and have a look around. He is a pretty interesting guy.

And now for the rules, as there are always rules to these things.

  1. Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to. (Sorry, I will have to break this rule. See below)
  2. You cannot nominate yourself or the person who has nominated you.
  3. Write a post to show your award. (This is it!)
  4. Give a brief story of how your blog started. (See below)
  5. Give a piece of advice or two to new bloggers. (See below)
  6. Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog. (Did that above)
  7. Attach the award badge to the post (right click and save, then upload.)
  8. Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them. (Broke the rules, see below)
  9. Provide a link to the original post on Edge of Night. (Done!)

Many of the blogs that I follow do not accept awards. So I am not going to waste my time nominating a bunch of people only to be told “Sorry, I don’t accept awards.” Therefore, if anyone wishes to snag this award and do this nomination thing, please do so. In essence, this means, I chose everyone on my reader list.

This blog began when I got the clever idea to write poetry, short fiction and slice-of-life stuff via prompts. Hence the name Promptly Written. Okay, maybe it isn’t so clever an idea, but I love the catchy name.

Advice to new bloggers:

  1. Make your blog accessible. You can do this by allowing people to follow you, share your work, and leave comments.
  2. Place a calendar, categories, and tags sections on your blog. This makes it so much easier for people to find your content.
  3. Create an ABOUT page. Make it clever. Make it uniquely you!
  4. If you want people to read you, you must read other people’s blogs too.
  5. Share, share, share! This means on social media as well as reblogging.
  6. Follow this blogger: Harsh Reality Just do it, you will thank me later!
