Thoughts on A-to-Z Challenge, Day Letter K
I took the day off yesterday from Letter K to spend the day with a dear childhood friend. We had lunch at a favorite pub, watched the movie Lucy and had a couple of drinks. It was a cherished moment that I would gladly give up writing to spend. Later, when I was about to sit down and write, another good friend stopped by for a chat. We’ve been close since college and I enjoy any moments I get with her. We talked about her recent hiking trips all over SW Virginia. She shared photos she’d taken that day. The time together was short, but again, cherished.
Later, I watched my lasted obsession: The Following. I have an unusual obsession with serial killers and am particularly attracted to the character of Joe Carroll on that show. I guess it doesn’t help any that the actor, James Purefoy, is an absolute vision of sexual prowess. His wife is one lucky lady!
By the time The Following went off, it was getting close to the time that my “one true love” was to call. His nightly calls keep me grounded, sane. Since I didn’t want to be in the throws of writing when he called, I decided not to write.
I’ve been spending hours writing lately, probably the most dedication I’ve spent on any writing projects since college. I’ve written when exhausted. The exhaustion finally caught up with me last night. After my call, instead of writing, I went to bed. I set the alarm to get me up in the wee hours of the morning, but after resetting it twice, it was obvious, I was going to sleep as long as I was going to sleep. It was nearly noon before I woke up.
Never fear though, I still intend to finish Letter K and hopefully write Letter L’s story today too. However, this could be the downward spiral of late days leading up to break day on Sunday. I even have a doctor’s appointment later this week. The story is coming… I hope you, my readers, will stay tuned.
